Armenia
A country in the South Caucasus, Armenia is situated in the northwestern part of the Armenian Highlands, known as historical Armenia, between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It is bordered in the north and east by the mountain ranges of the Lesser Caucasus. Armenia shares borders with Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey. Although geographically located in Asia, Armenia has close political and cultural ties with Europe. Throughout history, Armenia has been at the crossroads connecting Europe and Asia, and is therefore often regarded as a transcontinental country.
